An Argentine Tango For Marimba Quintet

Add To Cart

Composed by Angel Villoldo (1861-1919) in 1903, this work is one of the most popular tangos in Argentina. This version, first arranged in 2011 and published in 2019 by Kyle J. Maxwell-Doherty (b. 1986), features a marimba quintet arrangement that draws on The Hurtado Brothers Royal Marimba Band performance from the 1916 Victor record recording #18093-A. At least four marimbas are required to perform this arrangement, including one 5.0 octave and three 4.3 octave.
