Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) in 1722, this selection comes from the first book of Bach’s Well- Tempered Clavier. This collection was published for keyboard instruments, but not necessarily any single specific instrument, therefore many common markings, such as dynamics, are not included in the score. This keyboard percussion ensemble arrangement, arranged by Kyle J. Maxwell-Doherty (b. 1986), follows that tradition and can be phrased in many different ways. At least four marimbas are required to perform this arrangement, including one 5.0 octave and three 4.3 octave.
